Data Protection Policy
Changes to data protection law came into force on 25thMay 2018. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Europe’s new set of rules to protect personal data and an individual’s privacy.
Brentwood and District Photographic Club (BDPC) is established with the objects set out in its constitution, and is regarded as a data controller in the UK for the purposes of GDPR.
The personal information referenced in this Policy may include name, contact details, records of entries into competitions and events (both for club and inter-club competitions) together with such other information as may be necessary for the effective management of the legitimate interests of BDPC. Persons wishing to verify the information held on them by BDPC may apply to the BDPC Secretary.
Brentwood and District Photographic Club collects, holds and will hold personal information in the following categories:
- BDPC members
- Details of Committee members are published each year in the annual Syllabus of meetings
- Names of Committee members may be published on the BDPC website (at bdpc.uk)
- Persons offering their services to BDPC (eg judges or lecturers).
- Photographers as the authors of images used in the activities of BDPC.
BDPC may retain historical archives including (but not limited to) records of meetings (including AGMs), Minutes of meetings, competition entries, awards, trophy-holders, and other events and results.
